Lip Enhancement / Augmentation

Lip Enhancement: Give yourself beautiful, natural, youthful lips!

Lip AugmentationOne of Susan Stevens Tanne, M.D.’s favorite procedures to perform is lip enhancement. At Cosmetic Laser MD, Susan Stevens Tanne, M.D. uses her artistic eye and extensive aesthetic medical skills to create beautiful, natural looking lips. Dr. Tanne has a critical eye for symmetry and volume, and considers this procedure to be a joint effort between herself and her patient to achieve the precise results desired.

Beautiful, full lips are a key element of a beautiful face. Unfortunately, most of us are not born with them, and those who once had full lips may find that as we age our lips lose their fullness and volume, changing shape over the years. The corners of the mouth begin to droop, the cupid’s bow (v–shaped area of the top lip) flattens, and, fine wrinkles develop around lips, which are called “lipstick lines” or “smoker’s lines”.

The good news is that you can restore and enhance this area to achieve beautiful, full, sexy lips. The procedure is quick and safe, and the results are natural, beautiful, and long lasting! At Cosmetic Laser MD, Dr. Tanne offers a number of injectable fillers that are safe, affordable alternatives to implants or other invasive procedures. Using injectable filler, Dr. Tanne can strategically refine, enlarge and reshape the lips to deliver a natural looking pout that is far more desirable than the overstuffed look which currently plagues a host of high profile women from Hollywood to Park Avenue. Many patients report that the main benefit of injectable lip fillers is the increased confidence they have in their appearance. Lip fillers restore the plump, sensuous look that is lost with age, and are long–lasting.

Who is a candidate for lip enhancement?

Anyone who wants fuller or more defined lips—males and females are both candidates for this procedure.

Dr. Tanne uses injectable Restylane , Belotero and Restylane Silk to enhance or augment lips. These fillers are made of synthetic hyaluronic acid, which require no allergy testing. Dr. Tanne has the experience required to apply fillers with pinpoint accuracy. This advanced product is injected directly into your target areas to provide fullness right where you need it. You’ll see fuller, younger looking lips immediately.

Is lip enhancement a painful procedure?

Since the area is numbed ahead of time, there is rarely any discomfort.

How much time will I need to take off from work after lip enhancement?

Although there may be some swelling and/or bruising, patients can typically return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure.

How long do the results last?

The results of injectable lip enhancement/augmentation usually last five to seven months.

What is the intended result from having lip enhancement?

Lip Enhancement treatments are effective for:

  • Enhancing/augmenting lips that are too thin or of unequal proportion
  • Correcting signs of aging that cause the corners of the mouth to turn down in a permanent frown
  • Correcting a flattened cupid’s bow of the upper lip
  • Smoothing out lip lines to prevent lipstick bleeding
